The partnership will explore synergies to broaden the reach of Aye Solutions’ proprietary AI
technology and extend its current use case in retail to other industries.

Kuala Lumpur, 12 April 2022

Aye Solutions Sdn. Bhd. (Aye Solutions), an AI startup based in Kuala Lumpur, today announced a partnership with Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd (Huawei) to jointly collaborate on cloud-based AI solutions.

The signing of the Memorandum of Collaboration between both parties was held on
Tuesday, 12 April 2022. The partnership will cover the following areas:

  • To collaborate on the development of computer vision solutions with future technology powered by Huawei Cloud

  • To accelerate the development of Aye’s computer vision solutions by leveraging Huawei Cloud’s technical capabilities

  • Huawei to act as the supporting hyper-scaler cloud service provider for Aye’s pilot computer vision solutions projects

  • Jointly explore and develop Go-To-Market strategies for Aye’s computer vision solutions

In the past year, Aye Solutions has introduced AI-powered Autonomous Retail to Malaysia with the launch of the Aye Smart Store proof of concept store at UOA Glenmarie. This year, Aye Solutions is introducing a new solution for hospitality and facilities management with a Proof of Concept launching at Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (klia2) in Q2 2022. AI adoption in Malaysia is still at a nascent stage with an investment of only USD 0.23 per capita according to a Kearney report in 2020. This partnership will play a small step in facilitating growth of the Malaysian AI ecosystem.

“We believe that this partnership will allow us to accelerate commercialisation of our current solutions while further developing solutions for future use cases using Huawei Cloud. We believe that the formalisation of our partnership today will deepen our collaboration to bring cloud-based AI solutions to Malaysian businesses”, said Yee Yun Lim, CEO of Aye Solutions.

Huawei Malaysia’s Vice President of the Cloud and AI Business, Mr Lim Chee Siong said, “It is always our goal at Huawei Cloud to dive into digitalisation and to provide Everything as a Service (XaaS). We will continue to innovate with local partners to offer cutting-edge technologies to support customers’ digital transformation journeys. The collaboration with Aye Solutions will see more cloud-based Artificial Intelligence (AI) Solutions made ready for retail, hospitality and facilities management in Malaysia.”
